As a nutritionist I highly advise you drink this super green smoothie recipe every single day.  The health benefits are astounding.


It is essential you make this as a smoothie rather than juicing the ingredients therefore all of the fiber and good stuff from the fruit and vegetables will remains in your super drink.


Please always avoid pre-packed juices or even home squeezed fruit juice.


To put it simply, when we juice fruit or vegetables we remove all of the good stuff and you are basically serving a glass of sugar. Gross!


You want to consume the whole fruit in it’s natural form because this will be more filling and will keep you satisfied.


If you juice some fruit and consume the liquid sugar,  you will be craving more sweet stuff in no time and this can lead to a string of bad habits which are awful for your health.

The star of the green smoothie recipe has to be the avocado.  It is just such a nutritional powerhouse and if you don’t like it it’s okay too because you can’t taste it.  Some other ingredients you can play with would include:

  • kale
  • cucumber
  • broccoli
  • mint
  • lime
  • courgette


Use your imagination and get the blender out 😉


Green Super Smoothie - DRINK EVERYDAY

Course: Breakfast

  • Blender


  • 1 avocado
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1/2 apple
  • 1/2 stalk celery
  • 1 pinch turmeric
  • 2 inch ginger (peeled and roughly chopped)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup water (more may be required for desired consistency)


  • Peel the avocado and roughly chop any larger ingredients
  • Place all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth
  • Add some extra water if required to reach desired consistency
  • Enjoy! And, feel free to add some extra lemon juice or lime if you like some extra sour flavor
