Beef Noodle Soup – Chinese Recipes

This Beef Noodle Soup is so easy to make and is a great lunch time treat or a perfect starter for a Chinese themed dinner.  It’s no secret that I love Asian food and the easier it is to make the more I love it.  There really is no excuse for not eating fresh food when it is this simple to prepare.

Of course, you can change the meat to suit your choice, we all know of the more popular chicken noodle soup.  You can use Beef, Chicken, Pork or even fish or prawns.  Let me know how it turns out!

  • 1 tsp. oil
  • 200 g/7.05oz Beef
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 1 tsp. fresh chopped ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. dried chili flakes
  • 2 spring onion/scallion
  • 2 tbsp. Sherry
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 500 ml Beef stock or to match your choice meat
  • 1 small nest of dried noodles cooked as per instructions on pack
  • 1 tsp. Miso Paste
  • 1 small sheet of dried seaweed
  1. Please a pot on a high heat and add the oil
  2. Slice the beef into strips and add to the pot then stir until cooked (3-5 minutes)
  3. Peel and crush the garlic and ginger and add to the pot with the beef
  4. Chop one of the Scallions finely and add it and the chili flakes to the pot and stir to cook slightly
  5. Add the Sherry and Soy Sauce straight away and allow to cook for 1 minute stirring constantly
  6. Stir in the stock and miso paste and stir until combined
  7. Add the cooked noodles to a serving bowl and ladle over the Soup
  8. Slice up the remaining scallion and serve on top of the soup with a crumbled up seaweed sheet
