Income Report June 2017
Hello, I Cook The World visitors and welcome to our first ever income report June 2017… a very tiny income report but an income report never the less.
I made a very conscious decision to start the income reports from the beginning. I’m sure you may have noticed that most blogs with income reports usually only start publishing this information a few months or years down the line when they are making decent money from it. The truth is I want you to have a realistic expectation if you decide to start your own blog.
Any one who knows me will know I have a few other online businesses so I want to make it clear from the outset what I will and will not include in this and future income reports.
Included in the income reports:
- Advertising income from the website
- Affiliate marketing from the website
- Any social media sponsorship through the websites social media channels
- Youtube income
- Freelance work gained from having the website ie videography or photography etc
- Book sales
Not included in the income reports:
- Income from any other of my online businesses
- Freelance work which has no relation to the website
- Any other income
All income mentioned now and in future income reports will be as a direct result of starting this website and the social media pages that go with it.
Now, for a little more background information. I have no photography or writing experience, I am simply an avid home cook who loves food from all around the world and absolutely lives for food… A foodie of the highest order. So I thought, what better way to enjoy my hobby than to do it as a job every single day.
My journey began around October last year (2016) when the realisation set in that this was a possibility for me while at home with 2 small kids. I have other work including online sales, virtual assistant and now food videography, but the blog seemed the ultimate job for me so it is my goal over the next few years to make the dream a reality.
These are my goals for year 1 (deadline – July 2018):
- Create an income of $2000 per month
- Over 50,000 followers on combined social media platforms
- To be working on solely the blog or food videography
- To complete at least 3 training courses on photography or videography to improve my skills
I will keep you updated in due course.
Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the first ever I Cook The World income and visitor report for June 2017 – our first complete month:
Adsense – $0.21 – Yes, I can retire now
Amazon affiliates – $0.89
Gourmet Ads – $2.22
Book Sales $3.69
I know, I know I’m rich right? No, of course not but all joking aside, we all know it’s a very slow progressive process and actually to make anything in the first month is rare so I am confident we are moving in the right direction and I am very positive and excited about these tiny numbers.
I’m going to let you into a little secret and let you know that July’s income report is going to be somewhat more exciting, in fact…extremely exciting. But, I’m not giving anything away right here! You will have to read it for yourself next month!
I would love to hear from any other bloggers on your thoughts on blogging income or what you made in your first month, feel free to leave me a comment and I’ll get back to you!
Good luck to anyone else who is just starting out in the blogging world and feel free to contact me if you want to collaborate or guest post for each other, this is the key to success.
